Sweden
A while ago my girlfriend and I visited the island Ven over the night. The first day was quite rainy but, as you can see, the clouds gave way for the sun in the evening.
The bottle
Today I’m off to London to meet up with my girlfriend:) I’m looking forward to a really great time with her in a city that I’ve never visited before:) Hopefully I’ll be able to post some pictures of that trip in the days to come so stay tuned.
I hope that you’ll have a nice weekend as well.
Big yellow blob
Finally! I’m back. Sorry about the lack of updates here for a week. I’ve been rather busy doing some work in my apartment. One room has been stripped of its wallpaper, two rooms have newly polished floors and yet another room has been painted and fitted out with new floor molding. (Anyone knows a better English word for the Swedish word “golvlist”?) I didn’t do all the work by myself, and this is probably why, but I must say that it looks pretty good:)
Anyway, the long wait is finally over and today we take a closer look at the second yellow blob I promised you a few days ago:)

Small yellow blob
Today I will present you to a two-day theme with yellow floatation devices that I’ve found on beaches in Scania and if you come back tomorrow you’ll find the second part. It seems that some sort of law of nature says that these objects all have to be yellow which will soon be apparent to you all. We kick off this party with a look at something small. And yellow. On the beach.

Liquid
This picture was taken in Vikhög late in the evening with the setting sun giving the surface of the water a nice color. It is this contrast between the warm, golden parts and the cold, blue parts that makes me like this picture so much.
On a sidenote: Snow?! today? Really?:(
Chimneys
This picture is actually two pictures “glued” together in Photoshop. This gives focus both on some of the waves as well as some of the chimneys over in Denmark.
Please press to sea;) the original size.
A little bit of everything
Ducks, metal bars, rocks, water, ships, a lighthouse and a nuclear plant… What more could you wish for in a picture?:)
The lighthouse
A lighthouse in Malmö harbour, reflected in the water and with a light touch of summer.

Leaning
Christmas is over and it’s time for a quick return to school. There is no vacation what so ever for me over the next two years. Hooray! Anyway, I hope you all had a nice time and still have some energy saved up for new year’s eve.
The homecoming
Today we take a look at a picture that I took last summer. I have shown many pictures of the Öresund bridge but I just can’t seem to get enough of this beautiful construction. Speaking of the bridge: Did anyone catch the last episode of “Broen” last night? Quite good and what an end…
Please press for a bigger and better version:)
The sun
Here’s a picture from the archives. Checking the date of it I see that it was taken in January, 2010, but that would probably have been relatively easy to guess anyway by the size of the setting sun? The photo was taken by the Öresund bridge and shows a wind park and beyond that a ship.
The wave
When the winter is close the smaller bridges at Gilleleje gets dismantled. It’s probably a good thing considering how the waves come crushing in over it during those fall and winter-storms.
Ven
Last year R and I made a little trip to the island Ven. Although the sky looked pretty grey and ominous over the Swedish mainland we managed to go the entire day without getting a single drop of rain. Incredible:)
Please press for a bigger version.
Retrospect
This is what the sky looked like over the harbor of Barsebäck some three years ago.
Please press for a closer look.
The fiord
I was told that the fiord of Oslo would be both beautiful and impressive. This is basically the most of it that my girlfriend and I ”saw” as we went through it. Not that impressive if you ask me;)

The shadow
We’re still at the beginning of the journey on our boat to Norway. Out on the deck we found a nice place on a bench and sat for quite a long time enjoying the warm sunlight on our faces and bodies. Spring sure is lovely and has been dearly missed:)
The wind farm
We’re still pretty close to Copenhagen with the airport Kastrup in the background and a wind farm in the foreground. When first approaching it I assumed that they were standing in a straight line but, like the picture shows, they were standing in the shape of an arc. I remember reading some time ago about just how important it is for the individual wind mills to have the right position. Both the height, its position and placement in regard to its neighbours are parameters that are absolutely vital in order to be a lucrative and environmental source of energy.
The fundament
This picture was taken about two years ago. I don’t know why I haven’t published it before because it’s not too shabby I think;) I have posted other pictures from that trip though and the bridge fundament you see here is the same one as in this old post.
The bridge
I’m back! The day before yesterday I ate a kebabtallrik from Pizzeria Avesta next door and an hour or so afterwards I began to feel that something was wrong. That night I didn’t sleep many minutes and the morning started with all sorts of messy activities in the bathroom:( Lucky for me my girlfriend was here and she certainly did an outstanding job taking care of me in my hour of need. I’m planning to lose some weight and I can guarantee that I won’t be eating any pizzas or kebab in the foreseeable future:)
Today’s picture is of a bridge ready for the winter in Gilleleje.

The beach
Here’s another picture from last weekends trip to Gilleleje. We did a lot of walking during the Saturday but since it felt, more or less, like the first day of spring I can’t think of anything I’d rather do than that:) From Gilleleje the two kilometers or so to our cabin took us along a lovely path with a great view over the sea and the nice houses spread out in the landscape.
The thin patch of land just visible at the horizon is Sweden, most likely a charming village called Mölle. A word of warning though. If you happen to go there, just don’t buy the waffles in the harbor because they are bound to disappoint even the most fanatic waffle eater out there;)

Fishing
A friend of mine posted something interesting the other day. It seems that there is something fishy, if you excuse the pun, going on in the North Sea. Presumably this is the case for other places as well. According to the video that is embedded in my picture below basically half of what is being caught is returned to the sea. This is all good but there is a minor catch, ooops, there I go again, to it which is that they are all dead. To me it seems like an awful waste of our resources and unnecessary suffering for the fishes. Here’s a petition where you can make yourself heard on this matter which I urge you all to do. Now.
In The Sun
Even though this picture was taken in the middle of October last year it sure makes me miss summer for some reason:)

Whisks of smoke
I can still never get tired of these pictures. On this particular day I visited the harbor of Ystad. The tripod was unfortunately left at home so I had to stabilize the camera against the railing. Too bad. I would have loved to get a bigger view of this show:)
Gone fishing
As I stood freezing in the charming harbor of Vikhög this small fishing boat passed me by a couple of hundred meters out to sea. If their catch could’ve been measured by the amount of following birds the trip ought to have been a great success:)
