I can’t recall what church this photo was taken in but it ‘s one that can be found in Mechelen. Churches in Belgium are definitely worth a visit because they differ so much compared to the ones we have in Sweden. They’re absolutely full of alcoves dedicated to saints or other important figures but what I (dis)like the most are the pulpits. I didn’t take any pictures of them because I’m not even sure they could do them any justice.
Let me try to describe them to you: They’re big, dark, features big animals and people, quite often i torment. They are also carved out of wood and, more often than not, very tacky. I’m not saying that they’re worth a trip to Belgium alone but if you are in Belgium then put them on your “to-see-list” asap;)
