The Groot Begijnhof In Leuven was built in the early 13th century. It was intended as a community for unmarried, semi-religious women and was presumably a place for contemplation. Nowadays it is owned by the university of Leuven and the 300 apartments are inhabited by students. It is my guess that the streets quite possibly aren’t very quiet anymore:)
