I saw these two cuties engulfed in an epic battle a couple of weeks ago. It looked like the spider was only a couple of minutes away from a nice snack but when I came back a little while later the wasp was gone. I guess it must have fallen from the web. The spider wasn’t hurt in any way and had soon spun a new web. A somewhat cool picture if I may so myself.
I hope that the pictures below aren’t too scary to look at or, perhaps that no people with arachnophobia sees the post. The pictures were taken last summer at Nørre Rubjerg in north Jutland, Denmark. I don’t know if last year was especially good for spiders but I saw lots and lots of them. Some small, some really big ones. More will come but the spider below starts us off. As you can see he/she has just caught a fly in its web and is about to have a snack.
A couple of summers ago I was up on my roof. Calm down, it’s not as bad as it sounds. We have this section in the middle of it where you can barbecue or just hang out. Anyway, as I sat there and read I eventually became bored and went for a small walk to see if I could discover something out of the ordinary and all of a sudden I was face to face with this fearsome creature;)
My only regret is that I don’t own a macro objective. It would’ve been cool to see a real close up of this fella.
