A while ago my girlfriend and I visited the island Ven over the night. The first day was quite rainy but, as you can see, the clouds gave way for the sun in the evening.
Here’s another look at the magnificent building called The Shard in London. As mentioned yesterday it’s still in construction but I imagine they’re just putting on the finishing touch. Something else that I imagine is that on the very top floor they’ll just be able tp put one person and my guess is that that person needs a seriously pointy head;)

It’s finally time to have a look at one of the coolest buildings I’ve ever seen. Meet The Shard. At 310 meters it is currently the tallest building in the EU but what makes it stand out must be its unique architecture. I really love this and it sure would be great to see it again once its been finished:)

The picture below contains a lot of information. A plane and a chopper in the sky. A couple of boats in the river Thames. The huge ferris wheel London Eye on the left. Two bridges. The tower on the left belongs to the House of Parliament and on the right Big Ben proudly stands. (In fact it’s the name of the great bell in the clock but is usually used for the entire clock tower.)
Please press for a bigger version.
When walking around in London it is impossible to not notice all the people living on the streets. Living like this must be really hard all year round although I would think that the summer is at least manageable?

Two pictures of dead trees. Very similar yet very different.

One thing that I noticed directly when visiting London is the way many people paint their front doors. I still remember the famous blue door in the movie Notting Hill but never actually paid it much attention. Perhaps it’s a way to bring a little color and life into a huge city made of concrete and asphalt?

I rode my bike close to 80 kilometers yesterday. First a trip to Malmö and later, in the evening, I went for an off-road trip with my friend Stefan. We ended up, as so many times before, in Skrylle and Måryd. Everywhere we went the trees and grass had that fresh and crisp-green spring color and the lilacs were in full bloom. All in all it was a nice trip with many beautiful sights and a couple of great uphills:)

The summer has finally arrived. I love being able to sit on the balcony in the evening without freezing. Let’s just hope that the weather stays like this until Christmas or something:) The statue the girls sits in is one of two that forms a piece of art called Search for Enlightenment. See comments for more information.

My heart skipped a beat when seeing this old sign we passed in London. The group S-Express and their music really influenced me as a teenager and was one of the first groups to introduce acid house to a bigger audience. They released the epic track Theme from S-Express in 1988. (Wow, has it been that long?) and followed up with Hey music lover and Mantra for a state of mind in 1989. After that the group lost focus and was later split but please check out the songs. They’re still just as great:)
